I checked with Raymarine and discovered they have a flat rate charge of $800 to diagnose and fix any of their electronics. I ordered this new unit, attached it and was up and running immediately. Buying a new unit was definitely the less expensive route to go.
The new unit arrived in a few days and I was very satisfied.
