Rod is Fantastic. I will use nothing but Telescoping Rods ever again.
Now the reel they give with it is a POS but not what I was after anyhow.
If you fish you owe it to yourself to try a Telescoping Rod.
Less space, easy carry, easier storage, look great, work great.

Ready to Fish Spincast Combo with Tackle Review

I bought this fishing combo for both of my neices as an Easter gift as they love to fish at their family get away on weekends. They were delighted with the appearance of the fishing pole as it looked different from their brother and dad's gear. My brother loved it as well because it had everything the girls needed to fish and he didn't have to use his tackle to get them out fishing. I received a call from both girls this past weekend and heard all about thier "fish" stories. Both of them landed a few fish and were so happy! This is a great fishing pole for anyone who doesn't want to guess what to buy to get out and fish. I will be buying a few more for my other family members! So easy to use and a great product that made me a hero!

I took my time researching a B-ball system, checking with the neighbors to see what they had, online reviews and the sort all the time vigilant for a sale. Fortunately when this system dropped in price I had at least decided on a Lifetime system. The big seller for us is the adjustable technology used. It's a squeeze trigger that allows the backboard to glide up or down. It does take some time to put together but it's easy to do if you follow the instructions. You'll have many hours of enjoyment.

Amazon.com Basketball System Buying Guide With the high-quality construction of many portable basketball systems, turning your driveway into a basketball court can be as simple as hooking up your garden hose. But while a portable system may ultimately be your best choice, there are reasons you may want to consider an in-ground or wall-mount system before you decide.
In-Ground Systems In-ground systems are permanently cemented into the ground--either via a bolt mounting kit or directly into the ground--and are generally more rigid and take up less space than portables. In-ground systems often require that you hire a professional to complete the task, but when the cement dries you'll have a hoop that can take punishing dunks with ease.
Many in-ground systems are height-adjustable, include removable post features that let you take the system down for off-season storage, and feature heavy-duty break-away rims. You'll also want to research the adjustable mechanisms on the systems, as there are several types to choose from. Some feature a counter-balance spring that lets you perform easy, one-hand adjustments while others may feature a sturdy, pneumatic system.
Wall-Mount Systems Wall-mount systems can be mounted to the side of a house, a tall retaining wall, or a garage. Generally sturdier than portables, wall-mounts have the added advantage of optimizing your existing ground space for the court, since you won't take any space up with the base or pole. Not all systems include the necessary hardware, so make certain you add a mounting kit to your list.
Portable Systems Portable systems require minimal installation and offer ultimate convenience. These systems generally feature a base that can be filled with sand or water to stabilize them and include wheels for portability. Although they are not as sturdy as in-ground or wall-mounted hoops, portables are simple to set up and can often be folded for convenient storage.
Backboard Considerations Regardless of which system you choose, you'll want to brush up on Backboards 101. Most residential systems feature backboards made of acrylic, fiberglass, graphite, or various other composite materials. While clear acrylic gives the professional look and feel of glass, it is not as rigid as fiberglass or graphite. Some systems may offer steel or aluminum backboards, which are virtually vandal resistant, but don't offer the true rebounding action.
The regulation size of an NBA backboard is 72 inches wide and 42 inches high. Most portable hoops are 42 or 44 inches wide and 36 inches tall. In-ground systems tend to be a bit larger, with 54-inch and 60-inch widths being the most popular. While rectangular shaped backboards provide more bank shot opportunities, they are generally more expensive than the streamlined fan-shaped board.

I have has the Penn 330 GTi for 3 years now. I have fished striper, bluefish, shark and king mackeral all without a bit of trouble. Some say the level wind isn't good for saltwater. I respectfully disagree. The levelwind works great and keeps you focused on fighting the fish. No need to worry about the line bunching up in one area of the spool. I really like the reel!

Do not waste your money on this product. This is probably the worst product I've ever purchased through amazon and its associated merchants. The workmanship is really crappy. Plastic handle. Plastic eyelets. Poorly glued. I used this pole on a trip to the bahamas recently. With the first strike, the pole itself cracked where the thickest part of the rod meets the handle. I managed to land the less than 1 lb reef fish, but the pole was rendered useless. Then upon collapsing the pole, the eyelets came unglued. What crap! This is worthy of zero stars! There are much better options for your money.

Eureka Tetragon 5 Adventure 7-Foot by 5-Foot Two-Person Tent Review

Eureka Tetragon 5 Adventure 7-Foot by 5-Foot Two-Person Tent
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For the price, I figured this was the dirt tent.
I was wrong...When I opened this tent, I water proofed it first thing. Sealed the seams and the fly. Left it outside and of course, we got a healthy DUMPING of rain! It wasn't intentional but as it turned out, it was the ultimate test. This tent does not have high marks for water resistant but let me tell you that after sealing it, it DOES! Like all other EUREKA tents, this one has the "bathtub" bottom which means they designed it to stay dry by engineering the material to have little seams AT the bottom. Instead they are sewn 3-4 inches above the ground line which creates a lip that keeps the whole bottom dry. You have to step over it to get in but ... who cares! Once sealed, this tent hits a home run!
So now the durability test: The kids played in the tent for three days. I have two boys that know how to test stuff, believe me! Little did I know that they were playing ball with the dog and were tossing the ball inside the tent. I was horrified to watch the dog jumping in and out of the tent. Oh, the dog tried to jump through the screen as well! AUUGHH...but the tent not only survived, it came out unscathed. The fabric is VERY tough and took a beating with no scratches!
The tent was easily packed into a hiking backpack and is very lightweight. The room inside is terrific and you CAN share it with two full adults if you HAD to. I don't recommend it unless you really LIKE that other adult. he he...
Overall, this tent rocks. My only thing is that between the tent price and the shipping, I paid too much for it. :(($60)
It was on sale at our local *grocery store* for much less!
*DOH*
So Amazon is great and you get good research but sometimes it doesn't hurt to look locally once you are finished because the vendors charge WAY to much for shipping and thats disappointing. This does not take away from the tent itself though. This tent is the best backpacking tent I've had bar none.

About Eureka Although the exact year is unknown, Eureka's long history begins prior to 1895 in Binghamton, NY, where the company still resides today. Then known as the Eureka Tent & Awning Company, its first wares were canvas products--most notably, Conestoga wagon covers and horse blankets for 19th-century American frontiersmen--as well as American flags, store awnings, and camping tents.
The company increased production of its custom canvas products locally throughout the 1930s and early 1940s. The company even fabricated and erected a series of IBM "tent cities" just outside Binghamton, housing thousands of IBM salesmen during the company's annual stockholders meeting, which had outgrown its previous locale. With the advent of World War II and the increased demand for hospital ward tents, Eureka expanded operations and began shipping tents worldwide. Ultimately, upon the post-war return of the GIs and the resultant housing shortage, Eureka turned its attention to the home front during the 1950s by supplying awnings for the multitude of mobile homes that were purchased.
In 1960, renowned explorer Sir Edmund Hillary used Eureka's new and innovative Draw-Tite tent--with its practical, freestanding external frame--in a Himalayan expedition to Nepal (Hillary had climbed to the summit of Mt. Everest only six years earlier). In 1963, Eureka made history during its own Mt. Everest ascent, with more than 60 of its tents sheltering participants during the first all-American Mt. Everest Expedition, where explorers braved fierce 60-plus mph winds and temperatures reached below -20F.
Eureka introduced its legendary Timberline tent in the 1970s, targeting it to backpackers and families. The first to employ the StormShield design, the lightweight, self-supporting backpacking tent became one of the most popular tents in the industry, with sales reaching over 1 million by its 10-year anniversary. Eureka tents have also traveled as companions on other historic expeditions, including the American Women's Himalayan Expedition to Annapurna I in 1978 and the first Mt. Everest ascents by a Canadian and American woman in 1986 and 1988. In recent years, Eureka designed and donated tents to Eric Simonson and his team. The group took two historic research expeditions to Mt. Everest, this time in a quest for truth regarding the 1924 attempted summit of early English explorers George Mallory and Andrew Irvine. During the 1999 expedition, the team made history by finding the remains of George Mallory, but the overall mystery remained unsolved. Returning in 2001 to search for more clues, the team found several historical artifacts that are now on display at the Smithsonian.
Amazon.com Tent Guide Selecting a Tent Fortunately, there are all kinds of tents for weekend car campers, Everest expeditions, and everything in-between. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
Expect the Worst In general, it's wise to choose a tent that's designed to withstand the worst possible conditions you think you'll face. For instance, if you're a summer car camper in a region where weather is predictable, an inexpensive family or all-purpose tent will likely do the trick--especially if a vehicle is nearby and you can make a mad dash for safety when bad weather swoops in. If you're a backpacker, alpine climber, or bike explorer, or if you like to car camp in all seasons, you'll want to use something designed to handle more adversity.
Three- and Four-Season Tents For summer, early fall, and late spring outings, choose a three-season tent. At minimum, a quality three-season tent will have lightweight aluminum poles, a reinforced floor, durable stitching, and a quality rain-fly. Some three-season tents offer more open-air netting and are more specifically designed for summer backpacking and other activities. Many premium tents will feature pre-sealed, taped seams and a silicone-impregnated rain-fly for enhanced waterproof camping.
For winter camping or alpine travel, go with a four-season model. Because they typically feature more durable fabric coatings, as well as more poles, four-season tents are designed to handle heavy snowfall and high winds without collapsing. Of course, four-season tents exact a weight penalty of about 10 to 20 percent in trade for their strength and durability. They also tend to be more expensive.
Domes and Tunnels Tents are broadly categorized into two types: freestanding, which can stand up on their own, and those that must be staked down in order to stand upright. Freestanding tents often incorporate a dome-shaped design, and most four-season tents are constructed this way because a dome leaves no flat spots on the outer surface where snow can collect. Domes are also inherently stronger than any other design. Meanwhile, many three-season models employ a modified dome configuration called a tunnel. These are still freestanding, but they require fewer poles than a dome, use less fabric, and typically have a rectangular floorplan that offers less storage space than a dome configuration. Many one- and two-person tents are not freestanding, but they make up for it with less weight. Because they use fewer poles, they can also be quicker to set up than a dome.
Size Matters Ask yourself how many people you'd like to fit in your fabric hotel now and in the future. For soloists and minimalists, check out one-person tents. If you're a mega-minimalist, or if you have your eye on doing some big wall climbs, a waterproof-breathable bivy sack is the ticket. Some bivy sacks feature poles and stake points to give you a little more breathing room. Also, if you don't need bug protection and you want to save weight, check out open-air shelters.
Families who plan on car camping in good weather can choose from a wide range of jumbo-sized tents that will accommodate all your little ones with room to spare. A wide range of capacities is also available for three- and four-season backpacking and expedition tents. Remember, though, the bigger the tent you buy, the heavier it will be, although it's easy to break up the tent components among several people in your group. It's also helpful to compare the volume and floor-space measurements of models you're considering.

I, like most other boaters have struggled to find a solution to the problem of flying a flag off my boat. Most of the other products don't do the job, allowing the flag to ride up or come off at low speeds. Others require cutting the product apart and ruining it, if you ever want to change the flag. I was lost in a sea of useless boating accessories until I found Charveloix Clips. They are simply the BEST!!! They are extremely easy to put on and allow the user to remove them at anytime over and over agian. They're extremely durable and last for years, while being outside and unprotected. This product is bar-none the best buy for your flag flying needs...I would strongly recomend buying a pair or two....It truly is worth it!!!!!!

ROCKIN MODELS Workout DVD with Grace Lazenby Review

ROCKIN MODELS Workout DVD with Grace Lazenby
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is my first workout from Grace Lazenby, and I really like it. I had read positive reviews of this workout on a fitness forum, and decided to give it a try. I've been doing a lot of barre-style workouts lately (Physique 57 and Core Fusion), and am happy to add this in to my rotation.
The time just flew by with this workout! The screen uses other shots of the beach, Grace and the backup exercisers dancing, scenes of the Santa Monica boardwalk, and nature views that are placed on a split-screen next to the exercisers. If you're familiar with Cindy Crawford's workouts or Tracey Effinger's Squeeze workouts, which cut to different scenes, you'll be a bit familiar with this format.
The music for this is from three male artists (the "rock" aspect of the Rockin Models workout), and each section of the workout is choreographed to the music. I loved the music, and it reminded me of John Mayer, Jason Mraz, and Coldplay.
To do the workout, you'll need a pole of some sort (I used my barbell bar, but I'm sure a broomstick handle would also work), a yoga mat, a small hand towel, a playground ball, and an optional hat for fun. The workout is done barefoot.
Also, the workout description says that it's 65 minutes, but it actually comes in at just under 72 minutes, so it's a pretty long workout.
The workout is described as a combo of yoga, barre, and burlesque, and that's exactly what it felt like. It's divided into several main sections:
* The first section is thirteen minutes of flow yoga, beginning with some sun salutations.
* The next two segments use the pole/stick to work the legs, especially the thighs and rear. The hat is used in the second section sections for the burlesque vibe; I felt a bit silly at first, but then just loosened up and had fun with it! This section was similar to barre workouts, and it was very easy on the knees.

*After that, there is another flow yoga interlude, this time with more modifcations shown.
*Next comes another section using the pole (and optional hat) that incorporates ballet-style moves (arabesques, etc.).
*Then come three core training sections on the mat that use variations of V-sits and oblique twists.
* After that come several sections of lying leg work, including bridge work to target the buns and backs of the legs, clam-style work for the inner and outer thighs, and various other moves set to burlesque-style music.
*The workout concludes with a stretch. There are some really nice variations on these moves that I hadn't seen before that also made the workout feel fresh to me. For instance, the bridge portion doesn't do regular bridges, but has you alternate legs and tap each leg onto the opposite knee. Many other exercises also felt fresh in this way, in that Grace put a nice spin on an older exercise to keep it interesting.
To do the yoga sections, you'll probably want to be familiar with some poses such as Warrior 1 and 2, Crescent Pose, Down Dog, and Side Angle Pose. Since there is no explanation of proper form for these moves, you'll want to be already familiar with them, although the exercisers do show three levels of modifcations.
If you want to make the workout shorter, you can probably skip the yoga poses that are at the beginning, but you may not feel properly stretched out.
As much as I loved the workout, there are a few reasons why I'm giving it four stars. First, there was little arm work in this workout, as it seemed to concentrate mostly on legs and abs, except for the arm work in the yoga sections. For a workout this long (about 72 minutes), it would have been nice to have some arm and back work thrown in. Also, Grace's voice was really hard for me to hear over the music. I played with the settings on my TV to try to rectify this, but still had a hard time hearing her instructions in places. I also felt like her cueing could have been stronger in places during the yoga sections, especially when doing moves where you can't see the screen. I'm sure that after I do the workout a few more times, I'll get to know the moves better, but it was a bit frustrating at times to not be able to have better cues.
Overall, though, I really, really liked this workout, and know I'll use it a lot. Grace's personality is friendly and encouraging. I will be sure to update my review after I do the workout again if I can think of anything else to add to it. UPDATE FROM THE NEXT DAY: The day after doing this workout, I was really sore in my glutes, outer thighs, and obliques! This workout really targeted those areas in good ways!

Kelty Grand Mesa 4 Tent - 4 Person Review

Kelty Grand Mesa 4 Tent - 4 Person
Average Reviews:

I have been extremely pleased with this tent. It is spacious enough for my family of four and is very easy to set up. My ten and seven-year olds can pitch this tent almost completely by themselves. Hooks for the poles is a vast improvement over running poles through slits. The connections for the rainflap are very easy to use. The inside is pretty spacious. The one loop for a lantern is good, but would have liked one or two more. The storage compartments inside are sufficient, and between them and the space created when you close the rain flap we had all our gear out of the elements. Given the size of the tent it is not overly heavy, although I could not fit this in my pack using the bag is comes in. Instead I connected it via some extra straps on my pack and it worked just fine. We have had no issues with any component of this tent and would recommend it to other campers.

My husband and I bought this set for our oldest son's 9th birthday present. He was so excited when he opened the box! We set it up immediately and had hours of fun! Our 4 year old even got in on the action. This is a great set for families and I highly recommend it!!! Side note: Lay the net down when there is a strong wind coming or rain. Also, it wouldn't hurt to get some extra birdies or rackets, dependent on how much you plan on playing and how many players you'll have. Then just simply have fun and enjoy! :)

Columbia Bugaboo II Geo Dome Tent with Foot Lockers Review

Columbia Bugaboo II Geo Dome Tent with Foot Lockers
Average Reviews:

First off, this is a great tent for the money. The directions call for a 2 person assembly but I was able to do it on my own. The foot lockers are somewhat misleading. I was expecting a seperate compartment that held the shoes while keeping the inside of the tent clean. Instead, the foot lockers are a mini doorway into the main tent compartment. It also rained during my trip which sent us all (7 people) into the tent for shelter. The cyclone venting system was AWESOME and nobody felt like it was too stuffy. The next morning it only took the tent 2 hours to completely dry off which isn't too bad considering the sheer size of it ( a.k.a "fabric mansion"). OVERALL, you will definately be happy with this tent!

Bring the family to the campsite and still have room to spare with the Columbia Bugaboo II dome tent. The Bugaboo II--which sleeps up to five people--is equipped with both a Cyclone venting system and a GoBe Dry rain protection system. The Cyclone system greatly increases the air circulation within the tent, helping you stay cool on warmer days or dry out after a nasty rainstorm. The GoBe Dry system, meanwhile, includes taped seams and an elevated floor to keep the pounding rain outside.
The Bugaboo II also includes plenty of room for storage, with two footlockers, four pocket organizers, a gear loft for packs or valuables, and even multiple cupholders for coffee, soft drinks, or beer bottles. Other details include color-coded fiberglass poles and sleeves for easy setup, a polyester taffeta body and rainfly, and reflective zipper pulls. The Bugaboo II measures 12 by 6.16 by 9 feet (W x H x D) and weighs 21 pounds.
Key Features:

GoBe Dry ultimate rain protection system
Camp Port to allow easy passage of cables

About Columbia Sportswear Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world's largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of skiwear in the United States. Columbia's extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, chairman of the board, and her son, Tim Boyle, president and CEO, lead the company.
Columbia's history starts with Gert's parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that it wasn't long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. The company introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then-60-year-old Gert began her role as "Mother Boyle" in Columbia's successful and popular advertising campaign.
The company went public in 1998 and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.

Amazon.com Tent Guide
Selecting a Tent Fortunately, there are all kinds of tents for weekend car campers, Everest expeditions, and everything in-between. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
Expect the Worst In general, it's wise to choose a tent that's designed to withstand the worst possible conditions you think you'll face. For instance, if you're a summer car camper in a region where weather is predictable, an inexpensive family or all purpose tent will likely do the trick--especially if a vehicle is nearby and you can make a mad dash for safety when bad weather swoops in! If you're a backpacker, alpine climber or bike explorer, or if you like to car camp in all seasons, you'll want to take something designed to handle more adversity.
Three- and Four-Season Tents For summer, early fall and late spring outings, choose a three-season tent. At minimum, a quality three-season tent will have lightweight aluminum poles, a reinforced floor, durable stitching, and a quality rain-fly. Some three-season tents offer more open-air netting and are more specifically designed for summer backpacking and other activities. Many premium tents will feature pre-sealed, taped seams and a silicone-impregnated rain-fly for enhanced waterproofness.
Domes and Tunnels Tents are broadly categorized into two types, freestanding, which can stand up on their own, and those that must be staked down in order to stand upright. These are still freestanding, but they require fewer poles than a dome, use less fabric, and typically have a rectangular floor plan that offers less storage space than a dome configuration. Many one and two-person tents are not freestanding, but they make up for it by being more lightweight.

Davis Instruments Mounting Tripod Review

Davis Instruments Mounting Tripod
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
A four year old could design a better tripod. This one doesn't secure the upper pole to the lower one, meaning the whole weather instrument can be lifted off VERY Very easily. also, the spider spindle has zero locking system, meaning zero stability. And if they had just made the third leg telescoping, install would take 4 minutes, as opposed to 3 hours. DO NOT BUY. Get the simple Davis mounting pole and save yourself the hastle. You're going to be on a roof, how long do you really want to be up there? Also, none of the bolts and nuts were the size described in the instructions. Actually, none were either standard OR metric sizes. I have never run across that before. If you get this, dont bother leveling the tripod, this design is poor, and a level & plumb tripod will not ensure a level & plumb upper pole or unit. The weather instrument (VANTAGE VUE) is 6-stars, the tripod....a total bust.

Shakespeare Batman Kit Combo (2-Feet 6-Inch) Review

Shakespeare Batman Kit Combo (2-Feet 6-Inch)

I bought this for my nephew for his 3 year birthday. He loves anything Batman and he loves to go fishing with his dad. So, this seemed like the perfect gift for him. He loved it immediately and when he was told what it was for, he was even more excited.
The item is easy to use and learn. The kid themed design and size work perfect for my nephew and makes it that much more appealing for him to learn how to fish with his dad. It casts well enough for what a child needs it for and the reeling works great too! I would recommend this for anyone who has a child looking to learn to fish.

About Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Founded in 1897 by William Shakespeare, Jr., an avid fisherman of 27 years, Shakespeare Fishing Tackle has been a revered name within the fishing business for more than a century. Among William's first inventions was the level-wind reel, which was designed to wind fishing line evenly back on the spool. Now common on most fishing reels, the level-wind reel was a revelation at the time, and helped propel Shakespeare into prominence in the early part of the 20th century. In the ensuing years, Shakespeare introduced such innovations as the Backlash brake, which prevented spools from backlashing; the glass fiber Wonderod; the pushbutton Wondercast spinning reel; the Ugly Stik tubular fishing rod; and the Synergy spincast reels. Shakespeare Fishing Tackle is headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina.
