(More customer reviews)I purchased this pole with the 79307 backboard, since Amazon shows them frequently purchased together. Problem is, the backboard hardware is not meant to fit this pole. I had to modify a couple of pieces to make it fit. But, looks nice and works nicely when done. Regarding the pole itself, this is a lot of work. When you are "bouncing" the pole pieces together, be sure to do it on a solid foundation, like a board over concrete or over a gravel driveway. Don't do it on a board on the grass or you will pound away all day and not get them together (yes, I did this for awhile...). Once it is together and filled with concrete, I was able to put it in the hole alone, but barely. Two people are definitely recommended. Looks great now, but with one major problem: it only adjusts to 9'9" high. I have no idea what happened to the missing 3" because I followed the directions to a T, but there you have it. Good luck, and make sure you get a backboard that is meant to fit this thing! Amazon, you shouldn't recommend that buyers buy two parts that aren't meant to go together!

(More customer reviews)I have only used My Redfeather snow shoes twice so far but they seem to work well. Not quite as stylish as some of the other brands, but they work as they are supposed too. I use them to hunt coyotes in central Minnesota, I like to get off the road 1/2 mile or so and with this years deep snow they were a must. Kind of wish I didn't buy the poles as I have not used them, but oh well at least I have them if I ever want too.

It give you a nice option over the normal wrist straps that I never use anyway... Also, if you don't like these, you can just unclip and remove the glove straps completely. I like the versaility.

Although the item is pretty neat and I would use it in a flash when hiking or even walking through our ravine, I don't really trust it to hold her 110 pound frame if she needed it to avoid falling. The joints are fairly stong but do slide in when heavier pressure is applied. SHe does like the built in light, but I'm not sure she will use it. Too bad it does not come in niftier colours to make it look less institutional.
