(More customer reviews)i originaly ordered this rod, as an anchor pole for my king fish rig. i used an ugly stick at first but needed something a little stiffer. for $29 this pole can't be beat. its a great buy. i got the 12 ft med action to get some distance on my anchor. i should, or just might get the 16footer for surf casting. i live 10 miles from a bass pro s, and searched for a rod like this, but the price was too high. so i took the chance for $29.00, and okuma has a good reputation. i'm really happy with this. can't wait for warm weather and hit the piers..watch out kingfish, i'm comin for ya!!

A great parabolic action with guts when you need it. 14 to 40 pound rating is right on the money. I have three to cover all of the bases on the way out to the Grouper grounds and back. You are missing the boat if you don't try one of these Tiger Lite rods.

(More customer reviews)The TU-150 is 15' long. It is 3 pieces. I own 2 and bought my 3rd on 11/9/10 on Amazon.
The rod is phenomenal. I recommend you litely sand all connecting points for the joints so that the sections do not stick together because they will... after sanding rub surfer's "SEX WAX" for surf boards around the connecting joints (inside/outside as applicble). This rod casts about 30% further than my 12' surf rods and I use it in extreme surf with heavier weights OR when I just want to cast as far as any human being can cast a weight and a bait...no kidding.... I am able to cast 12 and 14 ounce weights with this rod in extreme conditions and I can cast an 8 ounce weight so far I have had other surf fishermen watch in awe. I fish for Stripers and Blues on Long Beach Island N.J. and this rod is great. Clean it after every use, treat it well and enjoy it.
Put a good reel on it, big reel recommended as this is a big rod. Nice tip action does not lie, tells you when a fish is messing with your bait. It takes a bit of muscle and skill to cast this beast and I love mine (all 3).....they make surf fishing even more fun !. Enjoy !.

(More customer reviews)My wife and I use "telescopic rods" for fishing out of our kayaks. This rod collapses to a good managable size, and is only 4'6" extended (perfect for our use). The problem is this item is described as having "stainless steel guides with smooth ceramic inserts"! It absolutely does not have inserts, ceramic or otherwise!! This was one of the main reasons for buyingShakespeare® Telescoping Spinning Rod this rod over Eagle Claw's "Pack it". Very disapointing as this was bought for specific trip; too late to get something else.

(More customer reviews)Unlike all telescopic rods, this one is a sensitive enough to be fished with. It has a decent quality, and the only warning I have for the future buyers is to assemble it tightly, otherwise it may fall apart during a strong cast. It happened to me once, but I was lucky having strong braided line, so I did not lose a fallen piece in the river. After I snugged it in more tightly, I never had a problem with it. When disassembled, it fits in the smallest backpack. The clear case is a bit tight, but it is needed to protect it from other objects in your backpack, and I also use rubber rings to secure pieces together.
The rod is strong enough to pull several pounds fish (or piece of wood, if you are less lucky) with some precautions.
Overall, you can't find better rod for the price! Don't buy those telescopic rods - you would not feel a single bite!
