THE LIGHT IS VERY BRIGHT AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE SEEN A GOOD DISTANCE AWAY.
HAVEN'T HAD THE LIGHT LONG, SO I WILL HAVE TO SEE HOW IT HOLDS UP TO THE SALT AIR.
I ALWAYS HAVE A CHUCKLE WHEN AN AD NOTES "IT FLOATS", THIS IS THE LAST THING YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT AT NIGHT WITH A SINKING BOAT.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this light to use on an extended canoe trip (2 weeks)with my sons. The light is plenty bright for what we need and it barely "sips" at the battery. I tested it for voltage drain and used batteries that were already too dead to run anything else (.9 - 1.15 volts remaining). Eight hours later the light was still going strong and voltage had dropped in each AA battery (4 needed) by approximately .01 (that's 1/100) volt per hour of use! At this rate, one set of AA batteries will last the whole trip. This appears to be a sturdy little unit that will be a handy addition to our excursion!
