(More customer reviews)My bike does not support racks that have to be attached to the back fork, so regular racks just wouldn't do. This one not only solves that problem, but is also very discreet and very easy to install/remove. The only downside is that if you are really short, like I am, it won't rest fully on the seatpost, and it will jiggle a bit. Folks at the bike store fixed this by putting a piece of hollow metal cylinder around the exposed part of the seatpost to compensate for the difference. Now it is truly PERFECT!!!

(More customer reviews)This product was exactly what we were looking for: We did not want to drill holes in the wall or ceiling; we wanted to hang one bike vertically in a very small apartment; we wanted to sort of "hide" the bike behind the front door (and still be able to open the door); we wanted the design and color of the rack to blend into the background; we wanted a product that would work with a 9' ceiling; we wanted a product that would hold a Trek hybrid bike.
We got all that we wanted.
More written directions would have been helpful--we assembled it on move-in day and in our fatigue, our brains were slow to grasp the picture directions. Remember to feed the hanger hooks onto the poles before screwing the poles together. If you are hanging one bike vertically, you will have to guesstimate where the hooks should go. (We used common sense and didn't have to redo the hook placement.) Remember to re-tighten all the screws after you get it all assembled, as the tension on the rods shifts after raising the rack into a vertical position. Also be aware that, although all necessary allen wrenches are included, you will need to have a ladder or stool to work on the ceiling tension. Do not use a chair to reach the ceiling--it is not safe to stand on a chair!!
Also: A female can lift a bike to hang it on the hooks--no problem.

(More customer reviews)This item was impossible to find at local cycle shops, so I had to purchase it on specifications (and faith). I was not disappointed, the unit is very light weight and relatively compact- just what I wanted.
The only minor difficulty was the bracket (to mount a rear reflector) was inserted in the main support tube. Instructions did not indicate this, and the fixture, contained within a plastic bag, was lodged within the tube (some 10" deep). WIth my wife's acumen, knitting needles and finally a drain unclogging tool, we we able to coax out the fixture. Don't let this detail scare you off- it's a great product!

(More customer reviews)I just bought this rack at Target to go with my new Raleigh Detour bike because I commute to work and rely on it for daily errands. Like the other reviewers have stated, it does not stay in place with the included clips, but it's an easy fix. I had a left over rubber strip that typically is used in the place of the plastic rings that I put in its place (it was spare from a U-lock I installed). After I put in the piece of rubber, not only did it tighten correctly, it also didn't swing around from side to side because the rubber had grip that the plastic rings did not.
In all, the rack works exceptionally well, I was able to carry back a toaster oven strapped to the rack that was easily 2x1x1 feet in dimensions. My only complaint with it after getting it mounted is that it could stand to be longer, but if you have bungee cords in addition to the included cord, it should not really matter.
As an added bonus, the rack keeps the back of my shirt and pants from getting splash back from riding in rainy wet Seattle weather. It makes a good stand in for a fender on my bike. In addition, I also ended up buying a Bell trunk rack that strapped onto it, so it's become a pretty flexible and useful rack.
In short, if you can find a nice bit of rubber from another bike mounting kit, or can buy one elsewhere, it's a fantastic product. Otherwise as others have said, it's useless because the plastic clips included are exceptionally terrible.

Yakima Tube Top Women's or Dual Suspension Bike Rack Frame Adapter Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this to work with a bike without a top tube that I currently have to mount "upside-down" and use the angled downtube to mount. However this put the bike up very high and blocks rear view. However, this adapater does not work well with very large (ie: long) frames. The problem is in the basic design that this adapter will almost "pull apart" and not stay very solid at full extension. It almost feels like it will snap apart when fully extended and loaded with the bike on the hitch. I can't use it with my bike, but it does work with my kids bikes which are much smaller. For my bike I have tried a friends Saris adapter that works much better for a large bike and I am looking into buying this instead.
